The book is a wide-range document on the Oeuvre of Italian Architect Paola Iacucci. It offers an overview of her work; her realized projects, her plans, writings and lectures. Paola Iacucci studied in Rome under Lodovico Quaroni and spent many years leading the AAM Gallery in Milan. Since 1995 she teaches in collaboration with Stephen Holl at the Columbia University in New York. She held lectures at the City College from 2000 to 2004 and guest-professorships in Princeton, Pratt, RISD, Parson, Penn, NJIT, Sci Arc in Vico Morcote and Carlton in Canada.

Paola Iacucci still works and teaches in the USA and Italy (BAU, 2001-2008; Associazione Culturale Civilta’ del Mediterraneo, Otranto). The two parts of this book, The Book of the East and The Book of the West, investigate the subtle relation of void and solid in architecture in two different worlds.
