The project “relationship work” dedicates itself—on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Vienna’s Künstlerhaus—to the relation between the artist, artwork, and the exhibiting institution. The point of departure lies in a symbolic-constructive relationship between the producer and institution and the formation of the relation as a visionary idea, appropriation, co-design, critique and departure. The book gathers the artistic contributions shown at the anniversary exhibition curated by Martin Fritz and contextualizes them with material from the archive of the Association of Austrian Artists.
